Overall interests and goals with respect to research:

We are particularly interested in examining how various policy and funding decisions impact on communities, particularly those in socio-economically disadvantaged areas. We are also interested in researching how funding and policy decisions currently are made, so we can work with community members to collaboratively influence these processes. We want to use research findings to advocate for fairer policy development and allocation of resources, to make society more equitable and inclusive.

What societal groups does the organisation aim to positively affect and support through collaborative research?

We aim to positively affect socio-economically disadvantaged groups based in Dublin 8.

How might engaging in collaborative research with TU Dublin support these groups in the longer term?

Engaging with TU Dublin would help develop research that meaningfully supports socio-economically disadvantaged groups in a strategic, long term way. Through collaboration with TU Dublin’s interdisciplinary research community, The Liberties Community Project would have an opportunity to examine how policy and funding decisions shape outcomes for communities and to advocate for a more equitable approach. We could co-create research processes with community members, ensuring that their voices and lived experiences inform every stage of inquiry and the design of potential solutions. This would strengthen the research and empower communities to understand and actively influence policy and resource decisions that affect them.

Austin Campbell, CEO.
