This research explores the use of data and emerging technologies in enhancing how Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) operate. It examines how these emerging technologies are democratising the technology landscape, lowering barriers to entry and enabling SMEs to compete more effectively with larger organisations. It also considers the practical ways in which SMEs can adopt and integrate these tools to improve efficiency, decision-making, and overall competitiveness.

Students must have a Master’s degree with a 2.1 or higher and a strong interest in enabling SMEs to grow through the utilisation of technology and data. They should demonstrate an awareness of how data and emerging technologies can enhance business operations, as well as a willingness to engage with the practical challenges SMEs face in adopting these tools.
