Making your Application for TU980
The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) is aimed at students:
- Who are curious, creative, and passionate about understanding the world
- Future leaders who value thoughtful communication and big-picture thinking
- Learners who want the freedom to explore multiple interests and career paths
Applications are accepted from school leavers, QQI applicants and Mature students. Applications from International students are also welcomed. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements for the course in order to be considered for a place.

English Language Requirements
If English is not your first language you will need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency as detailed on our website. Applicants for this course should have a minimum IELTS (Academic Version) English Proficiency of 6.0 overall (or equivalent).

Your residency and/or nationality determines how you should make an application to TU Dublin. If you are unsure which application route to follow, please read the following:
Applications via CAO
Apply for TU980 through the CAO if you fully meet one of the following criteria:
- You are currently living in Ireland and are sitting the Irish Leaving Certificate or studying for a QQI FET award, regardless of your Nationality/residency status.
- You hold EU Nationality/EU Passport AND
a) You are living in an EU country 3 of the last 5 years OR
b) You have attended at least 5 years primary/secondary education in an EU country. - You hold Non-EU Nationality but you are living in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years OR you are under 23 living with your parents who are working and paying tax in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years.
Applications via International Office
Apply through the International Office if you meet either of these criteria:
- You hold EU Nationality, but you have not lived in an EU country for 3 of the last 5 years AND you have not attended 5 years primary/secondary education in an EU country.
- You hold Non-EU Nationality and you live in a Non-EU country.
