GLAS @ TU Dublin Community Garden Open 5 Days per Week
The GLAS @ TU Dublin Community garden in the Blanchardstown campus has expanded its opening hours and added dedicated community inclusion support to make the space more accessible, welcoming and impactful for people in the Dublin 15 area.
Thanks to support from the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education & Training Board (DDLETB) REACH Fund 2026, the GLAS @ TU Dublin Community Garden will be open five days a week, Monday to Friday, from 11am to 1pm, from August until the end of November. The extended opening schedule will provide more opportunities for students, staff, local residents, schools, community groups and organisations to visit the garden, participate in activities and connect with nature.
The expansion of opening hours is accompanied by the appointment of Karen Moynihan as Community Inclusion Support Specialist, a new role created through the DDLETB REACH Fund support. Karen will work alongside Garden Manager Lee Geoghegan to further strengthen the quality, accessibility and impact of the GLAS @ TU Dublin programme.
Karen's role has been designed to ensure that the garden continues to be an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone, regardless of background, experience or ability. Karen will help make environmental education and climate action more accessible by adapting activities and resources to different needs and learning styles, while creating new opportunities for participation across the community.
The garden has become a vibrant community resource where people can learn about food growing, biodiversity, sustainability and climate action while enjoying the wellbeing benefits of spending time outdoors and with others. Through hands-on learning, shared experiences and community participation, the programme demonstrates how green spaces can support both environmental and social wellbeing.

The garden provides a space where collaboration between education, local government and community organisations can create positive environmental and social outcomes.
The GLAS @ TU Dublin Community Garden is delivered by Global Action Plan Ireland in partnership with TU Dublin and Fingal County Council.
