Tree Planting on the TU Dublin Tallaght Campus
We’re delighted to share that 35 native trees have been planted last week on the Tallaght Campus. The trees have been purchased as part of the Reconnect the Disconnected project funded under the Green-Campus Open Call and led by Lucia Walsh, Sustainability Education and Innovation Lead.
Catherine Cleary from Pocket Forests delivered the new young trees, marking an exciting step forward the enhancement of the campus' biodiversity.
This planting initiative is being led by School Of Mechanical Engineering lecturer Gerard Ryder, and Linda Bennet, Senior Library Assistant, who are coordinating the work and ensuring the trees are planted safely and effectively during the current warm spell.

These native trees will support:
- Hedgerow restoration, offering improved habitats for local wildlife
- Two outdoor classroom spaces, integrated with the renewed hedges
- Greater biodiversity and ecological resilience across the campus
And soon, they'll begin planting native wildflowers to complement the new planting work — more updates coming soon.
