‘Try Vegan for January’ – TU Dublin Students’ Union and Sustainability Partner for Veganuary Campaign
TU Dublin Students’ Union, with the support of TU Dublin Sustainability, is launching a ‘Try Vegan for January’ campaign across the City Campus from Monday 26 to Thursday 29 January. The initiative aims to encourage students to explore plant-based eating by offering free vegan food samples and information on the benefits of a vegan lifestyle.
Events will run daily from 13:00–14:30 at various campus locations. On Monday, activities will take place in the East Quad, with food provided by Kennedy’s. Tuesday’s event will be held in the SU Basement Common Room on Aungier Street, featuring catering from Cornucopia. On Wednesday, the campaign moves to Bolton Street, with food supplied by Bambino, and Thursday in the Central Quad, with catering by Sweet Almond.
Each day will showcase a different plant-based cuisine, ranging from gluten-free and vegan cookies to vegan pepperoni pizza. Students will also have the opportunity to chat with Students’ Union representatives and Sustainability staff, who will be on hand to share information about the environmental, health, and financial benefits of a plant-based diet, along with affordable and easy vegan recipes.
Speaking about the campaign, VP for City Campus Mina Eusebio said:
“I am excited to have this unique campaign on our city campuses. Hopefully this will encourage people to try out plant-based food, seeing that there’s so many positive effects from the diet such as helping the environment, your health, and even your pockets!”
“I’m incredibly thankful for TU Dublin Sustainability for funding and making this campaign possible through the Green Campus Open Call”.
Carla Marina Soriano, Green Campus Living Lab Coordinator, also welcomed the initiative, saying:
“We’re delighted to support the Students’ Union in delivering this Veganuary campaign through the Green Campus Open Call. Initiatives like this show how sustainability can be practical, inclusive, and student-driven, while also creating space for learning, community, and positive change on campus. You can help us make TU Dublin a leader in sustainability by joining our Green Campus Network.”
