Digital Construction
Digital construction is the use and application of digital tools and processes to improve the process of delivering and operating the built environment. Digital Construction enables the generation and management of information on a construction project during its entire life cycle to create digital and built assets.
The MSc in applied BIM and Management course will not only provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your chosen careers but will also assist in providing you with the skillset to embrace this new digital landscape. Our aim is to provide a creative, committed, and energetic environment, in which our students can explore and develop their individual abilities to work collaboratively within a BIM environment. Our BSc (Hons) in BIM (Digital Construction) is a one-year part-time re-skilling programme which addresses a significant market deficit for construction professionals by providing them with the ability to use BIM technologies in discipline-specific modelling and multidisciplinary coordination contexts. There is a strong focus within both programme on improving the construction sector's productivity through better multidisciplinary coordination, digital transformation, and through the application of Lean principles, including fully utilising people’s talents, skills, knowledge, and reducing waste.
The construction Industry are exploring more productive ways of doing business with a focus on predictive analytics to
improve project outcomes. Significant societal problems, such as addressing the shortage of adequate housing in Ireland
and improving infrastructure worldwide, will only be successfully addressed by applying analytics techniques with
advanced critical thinking by knowledgeable professionals. The Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Construction Analytics / Engineering Analytics services aims to address this by increasing need for the application of data science methods to the Engineering and Built Environment sectors.
