Pizza and Peers
St Laurence's Church was the venue of Pizza with Peers, a community of professionals in training event on the 27th of February. This networking event was the first of its kind for first-year students of health-related programmes. The event aimed to create a fun, relaxed networking environment where students could meet and engage with peers from other disciplines over pizza. It introduced them to the concept of them being healthcare practitioners (HCPs) as part of a broader healthcare community, rather than solely practitioners within their chosen disciplines. The focus of the event was helping students build their identity as healthcare professionals and understand the interconnectivity of their roles in patient care. It also allowed them to appreciate their contributions within a multidisciplinary healthcare framework.
