School of Architecture, Building and Environment Students Triumph at RIAI 2025 Student Awards
Students from TU Dublin’s Architectural Technology and Architecture programmes delivered by the School of Architecture, Building and Environment have achieved outstanding success at this year’s Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) 2025 Student Awards.
The RIAI HJL Rising Star Award in Architectural Technology celebrates a third-year Architectural Technology student who demonstrates exceptional academic achievement. This year, TU Dublin dominated the category. Leah Maher was named the 2025 winner, while Halina Egan and Aisling Holton each received high commendations. Bobby McNamee earned a commendation for his projects.
In the Architecture categories, Gus O’Kelly, a Bachelor of Architecture graduand, was Highly Commended for his thesis project “Life Above Flooding” in both the STW Student Excellence Award and Sustainable Design Award categories. Meanwhile, Evin Ryan, a Master of Architecture student, was commended in the RKD Student Writing Award for his essay “Architecture and Power in Twentieth-Century Ireland.”
