Contacting First Aid Responders in your area

In the event of a First-Aid emergency, First Aid Responders in your building/area are the first point of call.

Where a First Aid Responder is not available in your building/area, a staff member who is currently trained in Emergency First-Aid or if no such staff member is available, an Occupational Health Advisor may be called upon.

Details of staff members in each building/area who are currently trained in FIRST AID RESPONSE are available here

Remember:

There is an emergency first-aid kit and an automated external defibrillator (AED) available at the porter’s desk / reception area in all main campus buildings.

Injured/unwell students can attend their local Student Health Centre during term-time.

Your local Occupational Health Advisor is also available to provide first-aid advice and/or treatment.

Online Health & Safety Training

People Development works closely with the TU Dublin Health & Safety Office in delivering Health & Safety Training to staff.

Under Health & Safety Legislation, some training is required for all staff. In recognition of statutory obligations, TU Dublin has adopted a Health & Safety Training for Employees Policy. The Policy outlines the legal obligations of how to avail of training and provides details of the mandatory training. The full policy is available

Online Emergency Response Training:

If you are a whole-time or pro-rata employee, who has never attended the half day practical Emergency Response Training course you must do so at least once. After attending that initial training course you must take refresher training by eLearning at least once every three years.

If you are an hourly paid part-time staff member, you may avail of the eLearning option i.e. you may take the training by eLearning

Online Manual Handling:

All staff must take Manual Handling training at least once every three years and that those with manual handling related duties must attend the half day practical training course.

It is the responsibility of management to determine what the training requirement is by reference to the duties of individual staff members.

Registering for online training

As a member of staff, you should be automatically enrolled on required training in your first two weeks of employment.  If you have not been registered for this training, or you have any queries, you can contact the People Development office (peopledevelopment@Tudublin.ie), or the Health & Safety Office (SHW@TUDublin.ie)
