Speaking with Authority - Workshop for Leaders

Delivered by: Michael Comyn

Speaking with Authority is an advanced public speaking workshop for academic and PMSS leaders who already perform at a high level. The programme is focussed on advanced communication capability development, designed for people who are already good but want to become exceptional.

Who should attend?

If you are a seasoned academic, a department/function head, or a researcher stepping into a more public-facing role this course may be for you.

This workshop is for staff who already present regularly:

  • you may teach, lead teams, or represent the university at events
  • you are a professional who wants to move beyond slides and scripts, and are ready to invest in the kind of deliberate practice that transforms communication from a functional skill into a strategic capability
  • you want to handle challenge with composure -  in Q&A, pushback, and difficult dynamics
  • you are stepping into visible leadership where communication is a strategic asset

The programme is equally relevant to senior academic staff and senior professional services leaders, and is designed to work with mixed cohorts where both groups learn from each other's contexts and challenges.
