TU Dublin ensures all staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to meet legislative obligations. The Required Training Plan includes the following courses:
- Welcome Event
- GDPR Training: Online training available for all staff on Data Protection. Staff must familiarise themselves with the Data Protection Policy, understand how to handle personal and sensitive data, avoid actions that could breach data protection laws and reach out to their Head of School/Function or Information Governance Officer if unsure.
- Child Protection Training: Mandatory for staff working with children. Additional training for managers and designated personnel.
- Dignity & Respect at Work: One day training for managers, half-day session for other staff.
- Health & Safety: Required by law for all staff. Includes Manual Handling, Emergency Response, and Emergency First Aid.
- Licence to Recruit: For staff sitting on interview panels.
- PMDS (Performance Management Development System): Training for managers and staff to review achievements and set goals. The linked page describes the TU Dublin Performance Management and Development System Framework.
- Unconscious Bias & Positive Work Environment: Promotes inclusion and respect in the workplace.
Staff should be automatically enrolled in required training within their first two weeks. If not, contact People Development (peopledevelopment@tudublin.ie) or the Health & Safety Office (SHW@TUDublin.ie).
