Online Disability Awareness Training

Disability Awareness training is vital part of TU Dublin’s commitment to creating a workplace where ‘people love to work and learn’ in an open, accessible and comfortable environment.

Both AHEAD and the National Disability Authority have created online training to meet this need.

AHEAD is an independent non-profit organisation working with and for disabled people to shape inclusive and empowering environments in tertiary education and employment. The main focus of our work is further education and training, higher education and graduate employment.

ARK is AHEAD’s online platform which provides practical resources and know-how to support a range of institutional staff to be more accessible in their roles. Accessibility is key to inclusion as it provides more equal access for students and staff to engage with institutions, their services and related educational materials

What does ARK include?

  1. Digital Accessibility for Educators - AHEAD
  1. Whole Institution Approach to Accessibility - AHEAD
  1. Develop an Accessibility Statement - AHEAD
  1. Designing Course Layouts for Learner Success - AHEAD
  1. Universal Design for Learning - AHEAD
  1. Disability 101 - Awareness, Inclusion, and Equity - AHEAD
  1. Reasonable Accommodations in Tertiary Education - AHEAD
