Post Doctoral Researchers

Masoud Ghaani is a Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Dublin, contributing to the ARISE project within the Centre for Sustainable Packaging & Bioproducts (CSPB). He holds a PhD in Food Systems and has an interdisciplinary research background spanning sustainable packaging, polymer science, electrochemistry.

 His research focuses on the design and optimisation of bio-based packaging materials, including functional coatings and films with enhanced barrier and surface-engineered properties. He has strong expertise in polymer modification, thin-film processing, and advanced material characterisation, as well as in the recovery of biopolymers from agri-food residues. His broader work also includes electrochemical sensing and bioelectrochemical systems for resource and energy recovery from food-industry waste streams. He has worked closely with industrial partners on applied R&D projects, supporting material development, testing, and performance validation.

Within ARISE, his role centres on developing industry-driven sustainable packaging solutions, working with enterprise partners to translate research outcomes into scalable technologies and commercially relevant applications.
