Speak Up: Young People on Digital Skills and Employment
A youth-led policy hackathon
Date: Thursday 29 October 2026
Venue: TU Dublin, Grangegorman Campus
Time: 9am - 4.30pm
The Centre for Entrepreneurial Behaviour, Inclusion and Innovation (CEBII) at TU Dublin, with our partner Workday, are inviting young people (18 – 26) to a one-day hackathon. A hackathon is a fun, collaborative event where people work in small teams to develop ideas and solutions to real-life challenges. This day is a chance to talk about what it is really like to find work in today's digital world, especially when the doors are not open to everyone. Ideas from the day will be shared with policymakers in Ireland and Europe.
Together we'll talk about:
- How can young people learn the digital skills they need to get a job in Ireland today?
- Is AI helping or making things harder?
Who is it for?
The event is open to young people aged 18 to 26 living in Ireland. No qualifications are needed; just lived experience and a willingness to take part. We especially want to hear from under-represented communities (e.g. people with disabilities, the unemployed, immigrants, Travellers, LGBTQ+) whose voices are often missing from these conversations.
Why get involved?
- Have fun working in teams and coming up with ideas
- Meet other young people from different backgrounds
- Leave with new perspectives and something to add to your CV
Every participant will receive:
- A €50 One4All Gift Card
- Lunch on the day
