The Mission of the Food Innovation and Health Research Centre (FIHRC) is to contribute to the development of an innovative, competitive and resilient agri-food (food, drink and health) sector and bioeconomy, driven by a knowledge generation and dissemination, technology development and talent growth.

FIHRC research agenda includes studying food and drink production, developing new technologies to promote sustainable food systems, developing food enhancements, formulations, reformulations and nutraceuticals, health, human factors, safety, Regulation & Policy, addressing food safety and quality assurance, reducing waste and supporting a circular bioeconomy.
