Mohamed Beshr is a research scientist and PhD researcher specialising in surface engineering, materials characterisation, and composite materials. His doctoral research focuses on the development and optimisation of surface-enhanced spectroscopy substrates, with the aim of improving enhancement factor, selectivity, and reproducibility for advanced sensing applications.

Mohamed has experience in applied materials research, investigating advanced surface modification techniques and their influence on material performance. His work includes the study of plasma-based surface treatments to enhance adhesion in adhesively bonded carbon-fibre composites, particularly for aerospace applications. By integrating experimental design, microscopy-based characterisation, and mechanical testing, he develops a deeper understanding of the relationship between surface properties, interfacial behaviour, and structural performance.

His expertise spans materials processing, surface analysis, and performance evaluation, with a strong focus on translating scientific insights into practical engineering solutions. Passionate about innovation at the intersection of academia and industry, Mohamed is dedicated to advancing materials technologies that address real-world challenges across high-performance engineering and sensing applications.
