Course Description
Open research offers significant opportunities to increase the visibility, impact, and accessibility of research, but it also requires careful consideration of intellectual property, licencing, and research security. This session will provide researchers with an overview of key open research principles and the practical decisions needed to share research outputs responsibly. Topics will include open access and rights retention, publication and data licensing, ownership and management of intellectual property, and considerations for sharing research data in line with FAIR and open research principles. The session will also explore emerging research security requirements, including responsible data management, governance, collaboration, and risk awareness in an increasingly international research environment.
