Outline
This module introduces participants to peer reviewing in research writing, not only in their research area but also in other disciplines including arts, humanities, business, science and engineering fields. Topics covered will include

  • A Brief History of Academic Publishing.  ​
  • What does Academic publishing do?​
  • Peer Review and its perils​
  • Post-publication​
  • Ethics/Integrity in Academic Communication.​

The topics will be complemented with questions for debate and with 2 peer-review activities:

  • Editor's critique of 3 sample peer reviews
  • (Fast) Peer-review exercise.
