TU Dublin Hosts Prestigious Canadian Delegation, Showcase Innovative Approach to Higher Education

Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) was proud to have hosted a distinguished Canadian delegation during their visit to Dublin today. The delegation, comprising of leaders from Canadian academia and industry joined us as part of an intensive study tour which facilitated an in-depth exploration of university/enterprise best practices across various sectors, with TU Dublin's innovative Enterprise Academy at the forefront

TU Dublin, Ireland’s first technological university, and Ireland’s second largest university serves as a driving force in transformative higher education, seamlessly integrating academic excellence with practical, industry-relevant learning. The university's unique approach garnered international attention, and TU Dublin was delighted to share its expertise and experiences with the esteemed Canadian delegation. 

The visit, facilitated by the university's Enterprise Academy presents a significant opportunity for TU Dublin to showcase its strengths and contributions to the higher education landscape. The delegation's itinerary at TU Dublin included a series of in-depth sessions designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the university's distinctiveness.

The Canadian delegation will have the opportunity to meet with a variety of organisations during their visit to Dublin, including Bristol Myers Squibb; ibec (Irish Business and Employers Confederation); NIBRT (National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training); VLE Therapeutics; IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland. These organisations represent a range of sectors and interests, providing the delegation with a comprehensive overview of Dublin's industry and innovation ecosystem. 

About TU Dublin Enterprise Academy

The Enterprise Academy is a multidisciplinary business unit adopting an innovative approach to Collaborative Talent Development for workplace learners, while also facilitating connections with on-campus learners. Launched in November 2022, it is designed to support Irish-based enterprises in their talent development and skills strategies. 

The Enterprise Academy at TU Dublin aims to build and grow active partnerships across academia, industry, community and society, to create value and impact for the TU Dublin community and wider society. As such, it will support the University in achieving its aim to increase active partnerships by 10% and to grow diversified income to 30% of total income by 2028.
