Guest Lectures, Onsite Visits and Work Experience with Matthieu Chardon
ABOUT THE COLLABORATOR
Matthieu Chardon is a French director with a love for community storytelling, a passion that’s taken him from Paris to Ireland, where he has been living for several years. His commercial work includes iconic names like Kerrygold, Kellogg's, United Nation (IOM), GAA, crafting national campaigns across TV and print.
His lens also explores the world of documentary, from Nepal for UNICEF to the rainforests and space station of French Guiana (where he also grew up), as well as Norway, and this May, near Mount Kenya, to capture the story of the endangered bongo.
With over a decade in the advertising industry, his directing, cinematography, photography, and editing have earned both national and international recognition. Including the ICAD Greenhorn Award, which acknowledge his versatility, from agile three-person crews to directing full-scale productions of 50+.
ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
Matthieu's collaboration with TU Dublin spans multiple years since his graduation from the Creative Digital Media programme through to his roles at Publics Dublin and Bolt by TBWA,
Where he built both of the studios with his team, now leading a team of 10 in Bolt.
His engagement creates valuable opportunities for students in the School of Media, particularly those in the BA Creative Digital Media program at Blanchardstown.
The partnership has special significance as several of Matthieu's colleagues at Bolt, including Junior Director Leah Byrne, who moved to Bolt 4 years ago, and contributed greatly to the development of the studio. and Junior Designer Lee Keegan, are also graduates of the same programme.
Onsite Visits
Matthieu hosts students at Bolt, allowing them to experience a professional production environment firsthand. During these visits, the creative team demonstrates their workflow, equipment, and completed projects.

Guest Lectures
Matthieu regularly deliver guest lectures at TU Dublin through the Professional Practice module led by Helen Williams, sharing expert knowledge in advertising production, digital media, and creative direction.

Work Placement
Both at Publicis Dublin and Bolt, Matthieu has sponsored work placement students through the Creative Digital Media work experience program. This module helps third-year students prepare for professional life through hands-on internships in real workplace settings.
