Data backup

Data backup is a common term used in the domain of information technology. It means making a copy of the existing data and storing it somewhere else. The primary purpose of backing up data is to use it if the original data is inaccessible, lost, deleted, corrupted, or stolen.

What is the importance of Data Backup?

You can lose your precious data due to numerous reasons, and without backup data, data recovery will be expensive, time consuming, and at times, impossible.

TU Dublin Backup

TU Dublin recommends that all staff and students back up their data to Microsoft One Drive.

What is One Drive?

As part of Microsoft 365, all staff and students have access to Microsoft's cloud-based file storage service, OneDrive. This service allows you to sync and share files between computers and mobile devices for easy access to your files from anywhere you have an internet connection. Sharing and receiving documents, photos, or many other types of file is much easier using OneDrive. Please see our guide to using One Drive.
