Turnitin How to Guides for Students

The TurnItIn student guides have been collated, developed and designed to support and guide students with using our new plagiarism detection tool called TurnItIn.
The guides are a mix of internal and external user guides and videos to help you use TurnItIn within Brightspace.

You can view the entire list of TurnItIn resources or filter by 'Category'
You can also use the 'Search' bar to search for a particular area of interest

To clear any filter in a column, select the header in the drop down, or click the 'Reset' button on the right.

Understanding the Similarity Score	Similarity Report	Brightspace	TurnItIn Guide	The similarity score is the percentage of matched text your submission contains. We calculate this by dividing the total words in a submission by the amount of words matched to outside sources.
Viewing your Similarity Report with Microsoft Teams Similarity	Similarity Report	Brightspace	TurnItIn Guide	Similarity Reports are available for review shortly after submission. You can find the Similarity Report link in the My Work section of the Assignment page.
