Climate Action Week 2026 Film Screenings
This October, as part of Climate Action Week 2026, TU Dublin invites students, staff and members of the wider community to explore some of the most pressing environmental questions of our time through film.
Whether examining humanity's relationship with nature, reflecting on the realities of climate change, or questioning the pursuit of endless economic growth, each screening offers a unique opportunity to engage with sustainability issues through the power of storytelling.
Princess Mononoke
Book free ticket
Directed by: Hayao Miyazaki
Duration: 2 hours 14 minutes
Join the Environment and Planning Society for a screening of Hayao Miyazaki’s masterpiece Princess Mononoke. Widely regarded as one of the greatest animated films ever made, Princess Mononoke explores the complex relationship between humans and the natural world. Set in medieval Japan, the story follows a young warrior caught between an industrialising settlement and the forest spirits striving to protect their land. Rather than presenting simple heroes and villains, the film offers a nuanced reflection on environmental conflict, biodiversity, and the consequences of human development.
