Embedding the SDGs Across the Curriculum CPD 2026
TU Dublin academic staff are invited to take part in Embedding the SDGs Across the Curriculum, a free Continuing Professional Development (CPD) course designed to support educators in integrating the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into teaching, learning and assessment practice.
Developed by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education in partnership with Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin), Atlantic Technological University (ATU), University of Galway, and University College Cork (UCC), this six-week online course provides participants with practical tools, examples and frameworks to help embed sustainability across disciplines and programmes. The course aims to build a dynamic community of practice among higher and further education staff committed to advancing Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
Participants will explore how the SDGs relate to their own discipline, critically evaluate approaches to teaching and assessment through a sustainability lens, and identify opportunities to incorporate interdisciplinary and transformative learning approaches into their curricula.
Starting on 08 October 2026, the course requires approximately 25 learner hours over six weeks and is offered fully online, making it accessible to staff across all campuses and disciplines. Participants who complete the course can also avail of an additional facilitator training pathway, enabling them to support delivery of the programme within their own institutions.
This opportunity aligns closely with TU Dublin's commitment to embedding sustainability across teaching, learning, research and operations, while supporting staff to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to address complex global sustainability challenges.
Places are limited and available to staff currently working in higher and further education.
