Nature Connections Photo Exhibition open for submissions
TU Dublin is on a mission to identify, preserve and enhance biodiversity on campus and there are many initiatives across the university to help achieve this goal.
If you'd like to get involved, here's an exciting opportunity for you! Students and members of staff are invited to explore TU Dublin campuses and take photos of any native plant, animal, invertebrate (insects, soil life or aquatic), bird or aquatic species. By submitting your photo, you can take part in a campus-wide photo competition. Winning entries will be featured in a public exhibition to take place in Tallaght as part of the National Biodiversity Week.
How does it work?
- Photos can be taken using a camera or a mobile phone. Images should be unedited — no AI tools or photo‑editing software.
- They should be accompanied by a short story (maximum of 150 words) that describes the memories sparked by that image, the story should indicate how important nature is to you. If you wish your story and image to be anonymous in the exhibition please let the organisers know.
- Submissions can be sent to either gerard.ryder@tudublin.ie or Linda.bennett@tudublin.ie. The subject should be "Nature Connections" Entry and include your full name.
- The deadline for entries is Midnight Friday 24th April 2026.
Best of luck and happy exploring!
This photo competition and exhibition is being organised by School of Mechanical Engineering lecturer Gerard Ryder and Senior Library Assistant Linda Bennet, as part of the 'TU Dublin Bioblitz and Photo Competition' project funded under the Green-Campus Open Call 2025.
