TU Dublin is delighted to welcome Professor Benoît Gabrielle to the University for the Seminar - Sustainability Education at Scale: Lessons from Université Paris-Saclay and AgroParisTech. Colleagues from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) across Ireland, including TU Dublin staff, can register for the hybrid event.
The Learning, Teaching & Assessment (LTA) team at TU Dublin, together with TU Dublin's Sustainability Education Team, and the HEA Education for Sustainable Development Community of Practice are pleased to welcome Professor Benoît Gabrielle, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Sustainable Development and Societal Responsibility at Université Paris-Saclay and Research Professor at AgroParisTech, for a special hybrid seminar exploring how HEIs are embedding sustainability across curricula and preparing graduates to address the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
As universities worldwide seek to embed sustainability across teaching, learning and graduate outcomes, France has introduced an ambitious national initiative to integrate sustainability education throughout higher education. In this seminar, Professor Gabrielle will share insights from the French experience, exploring both national policy developments and institutional approaches to implementing sustainability education at scale.
Session Outline
Drawing on the experience of Université Paris-Saclay and AgroParisTech, the session will highlight practical lessons in curriculum development, student engagement and institution-wide sustainability learning. Participants will also hear about innovative approaches to sustainability education, including the development of interactive and gamified learning experiences.
The seminar will provide an opportunity for academic and professional staff to explore how sustainability can be meaningfully integrated across disciplines and programmes, and to reflect on the implications for curriculum enhancement and educational transformation within the Irish higher education context. Academic staff, including lecturers, module and programme coordinators, and colleagues involved in academic policy development and implementation, are therefore strongly encouraged to attend.
