University Sustainability Council approves regenerated Green-Campus Committee
TU Dublin’s University Sustainability Council recently adopted the Terms of Reference of the newly formed Green-Campus Committee. The Green-Campus Committee at TU Dublin was regenerated in 2025 to take account for the growing need to develop local campus networks. Five new local Green-Campus networks have been formed, one per campus at Aungier Street, Blanchardstown, Bolton Street, Grangegorman and Tallaght.
The role of the Green-Campus Committee is to lead TU Dublin’s Green Flag process and engage with the Green-Campus Programme and local networks. The adoption of the Terms of Reference is a significant move forward to beginning the work of the new committee.
Speaking about the development Green-Campus Co-Chair Asfand Bakht Yar said:
“The University Sustainability Council’s approval of the newly formed Green-Campus Committee is a significant milestone for TU Dublin’s Green Flag Journey. The regeneration of the Committee, alongside the establishment of five local Green-Campus networks across our campuses, creates a strong and inclusive framework for coordinated action. With clear Terms of Reference now in place, the Committee is well positioned to lead the Green Flag process and to support locally driven sustainability initiatives that reflect the needs and strengths of each campus community”.
The Green-Campus Committee is open for membership all year round.
