Community Gardens
TU Dublin’s community gardens are vibrant, inclusive spaces where students, staff, and local communities come together to grow food, share knowledge, and connect with nature. Located on the Grangegorman and Blanchardstown campuses, these gardens promote sustainability, wellbeing, and social inclusion.
In 2024, The Grangegorman Community Garden ran as pilot living lab to restore a neglected space while co-developing a sustainable, community-led governance model with local stakeholders. The garden is now a collaborative project revitalised through TU Dublin’s Living Lab, in partnership with Chemical and BioPharmaceutical Sciences, offering hands-on learning in biodiversity and research in soil health. Meanwhile, the GLAS at TU Dublin in Blanchardstown, developed with Fingal County Council and Global Action Plan, hosts workshops, seasonal events, and volunteering opportunities. Both gardens support the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reflect TU Dublin’s commitment to societal engagement.
Whether you're interested in growing your own food, learning about composting, or simply enjoying a peaceful green space, the gardens are open to all. Join us in cultivating a greener and more connected campus community.
