Director of Planning, Information & Compliance

David is a higher education leader with over 25 years of experience in digital transformation, cyber security, governance, data and analytics, organisational change, artificial intelligence, and automation.

David joined Technological University Dublin in 2024, bringing extensive experience leading complex institutional transformation programmes and delivering strategic change across large, diverse organisations. Before joining TU Dublin, he held several senior leadership positions at Queen's University Belfast, where he played a key role in developing and delivering technology and digital services that supported the University's academic and operational objectives.

Throughout his career, David has led significant initiatives in digital innovation, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, business intelligence, governance, and organisational effectiveness. He is particularly recognised for advancing data-informed decision-making, strengthening institutional capability, and championing the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence and automation to enhance organisational performance and user experience.

David is an active contributor to the higher education sector and holds a number of leadership roles within professional networks, including Vice-Chair of the UCISA Corporate Information Systems Group, Chair of the UCISA PACED Conference Committee, and a member of the Dell Client Advisory Council. He regularly contributes to national and international discussions on digital transformation, governance, artificial intelligence, automation, and cybersecurity, including organisational resilience.

David holds a BSc(Hons) in Business Administration and Computer Science and an MSc in Computer-Based Learning, both from Queen's University Belfast.
