Trophy Room Treasures: 2nd Year TU678 Business Management Students Secure 1st Runner-Up Spot in Bolton Trust Student Enterprise Competition

Published: 23 Feb, 2024

In an impressive display of entrepreneurial prowess, four second-year School of Management, People and Organisations (MPO) students from the TU678 Business Management programme - Conor Doran, Darragh Kelly, Neil Kilmartin, and Dillon Byrne – have emerged as 1st runners-up in the Bolton Trust Student Enterprise Competition semi-final stage. The students, enrolled in the Enterprise Development Module during Semester 1 of their second year, showcased their business acumen through their venture, Trophy Room Treasures.

Trophy Room Treasures, a business already in operation, specializes in providing services to pubs and sports clubs. The competition required the students to submit a comprehensive business plan as part of their assessment for the module. What set them apart was not just the theoretical aspect of their submission, but the fact that they had successfully launched and operated their business, making it a practical embodiment of their entrepreneurial skills.

The four students had the opportunity to present their work in front of a distinguished audience and a panel of judges. The rigorous session included a thorough Q&A, where the judges scrutinised every detail of their business plan and operations. Despite the intense competition, Trophy Room Treasures excelled and secured the 1st runner-up position. As a reward for their efforts, the team will receive a prize of 250 euros. This achievement not only highlights the dedication and hard work of the students but also showcases the practical applicability of the academic modules offered on the School of MPO TU678 Business Management programme in real-world scenarios.

The Bolton Trust Student Enterprise Competition is a platform that recognises and promotes innovative business ideas among students. Trophy Room Treasures' success is a testament to the quality of education and the practical skills imparted by the School of MPO TU678 Business Management programme at TU Dublin. The entire TU Dublin Faculty of Business community congratulates Conor Doran, Darragh Kelly, Neil Kilmartin, and Dillon Byrne on their great achievement and wishes them the best in the upcoming final round.
