Global Entrepreneurial Talent Management 4 (GETM4)

Activity Details

‘Global Entrepreneurial Talent Management 4' (GETM4), is a €1.5 million research project funded by the prestigious Horizon Europe initiative, the EU's flagship program for Research and Innovation. Led by the TU Dublin School of Computer Science (City), with involvement from the School of Management, People and Organisations (MPO), and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, GETM4 will focus on the impact of digitalization on society, striving to enhance health, well-being, and sustainable development by nurturing entrepreneurial talent management and responsible digital innovation, in line with the EU Recovery Plan and digitalization goals to build Next Generation EU.

The key focal point of GETM4 is the 368 funded research secondments that link the project with 11 esteemed international universities (see list below) across nine countries. The School of MPO has been allocated 20 of these funded research secondments. This dynamic collaboration is the driving force behind GETM4's commitment to delivering eight crucial work packages (see list below), each designed to contribute to the project's overarching missions:

• GETM4 aims to identify the role that entrepreneurial talent (in individuals, higher education, and industry) can play in tackling societal ‘wicked problems’ (Rittel & Webber, 1973) and exploiting the opportunities created by major disruption.
• Bringing together our shared values (Pearce et al., 2020) our overarching objective is to contribute to better health, well-being, happiness, and sustainable development of individuals, organisations, and society by developing talent for digital entrepreneurial action underpinned by responsible innovation.
• We want to identify and facilitate the potential of entrepreneurial action to support not only economic development but also societal health in line with the EU Recovery Plan (European Commission, 2023) to build NextGenerationEU (European Union, 2023) (more digital and more resilient). 
• Further, we aim to investigate how this can be achieved in a responsible and sustainable way through international collaboration for ‘respectful innovation’ and ‘respectful translation’ of knowledge, skills, and resources, including how the Global North can learn from the Global South.
