• The latest output (a conference paper) from this research entitled ‘An Investigation of the Institutional and Cultural Impacts on Foreign Direct Investment Decision- Empirical Evidence from Chinese Multinational Enterprises Investing in Ireland’ achieved the ‘BEST PAPER IN TRACK AWARD’, awarded by Irish Academy of Management 24th Annual Conference in 2021.

2) Research project title/topic: empirical investigation of industrial relations practices within Chinese MNCs – empirical evidence from Ireland

• Dates: December 2021 till present

• A pending journal paper entitled ‘Exploring host and home country effects on industrial relations in Chinese multinational enterprises - Evidence from Ireland’ was produced and submitted to the ‘European Journal of Industrial Relations Special Issue on China’s Influence on Industrial Relations in Europe and Beyond’ in 2022

3) Research project title/topic: an international comparative study that explores the effects of social capital and knowledge sharing within Chinese and Irish culture.

• A conference paper titled ‘The distinct effects of tie strength on knowledge sharing: A multilevel consideration of the cultural value in Ireland China and Ireland’ is produced and presented in The Eighth (2023) Cross Country Perspectives in Finance (CCPF) Conference, June 2023, Special Theme of the Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money

4) Research project: empirical investigation of HRM practices within MNEs from emerging economies investing in Ireland and other EU countries.

• Dates: Dec. 2021 till present
• Collaborators/team members: in the process of looking for potential collaborators and applying for research funding.

5) Research project title/topic: supervising and facilitating a potential PhD project that entitled ‘‘Does Innovative HRM Spur Firm Performance? The Role of Learning Orientation, Organizational Citizenship Behaviour, and Knowledge Sourcing’’
• Dates: June 2023 – Present
• Collaborators/team members: collaborating with a potential PhD student
• working on the process of applying for research funding/scholarship (including the IRC scholarship)

6) Research project title/topic: supervising and facilitating a potential PhD project that entitled ‘‘Drivers of the Degree of Professional Services Firms Internationalization in Less Developed Countries’’;

• Collaborators/team members: collaborating with a potential PhD student
• working on the process of applying for research funding/scholarship (including the IRC scholarship)

7) PhD Research in Human Resource Management and International Business, at the Department of Work and Employment Studies, Kemmy Business School, University of Limerick.

• Dates: Aug. 2011 – Aug. 2018
• My PhD research examined the impacts of a range of social, economic, HR and IR factors on the location decisions of Chinese MNCs investing in Ireland.
• One journal publication and a few conference papers were derived from this PhD research.
