Constructive Interference at the RDS
From 2022-2025, TU Dublin led on the Building Change HCI Pillar 3 funded project aimed to radically revise the national curriculum for architectural education in Ireland, emphasising knowledge and skills needed to address climate action and the housing crisis. The project was an internationally unique national collaboration of all six universities delivering professionally accredited programmes in architecture. As part of this initiative in October 2024, the six schools staged an exhibition of work of all students during the annual Architecture and Building Expo and RIAI conference in the RDS.
Although the Building Change has formally concluded, TU Dublin and UCD led again on the second iteration of this exhibition. Entitled Constructive Interference, the exhibition took place from 8-9 October at the RDS showcasing student work from across the island of Ireland. Generously funded this year by the RIAI and supported by the Architecture and Building Expo this year's event was even bigger and better than the first, with over 500 students from across the island attending over two days. The exhibition again showcased work from all six schools of architecture, reflecting the impact of curriculum transformation undertaken through the Building Change project.
