Matthew Dalziel is an architect and principal of Atelier Dalziel. He is a PhD by practice fellow in the Institute of Architecture, where his research project Architectural Imagination after Human Exceptionalism uses methods of praxis (theory in practice) to explore the intersectional quandaries of architectural craft, tectonic culture, and environmental crisis. His research interests include environmental humanities, new materialisms, and posthumanisms in concert with architectural histories and theories.

Matthew studied architecture at London Metropolitan University and The Architectural Association. Before founding Atelier Dalziel in Oslo, he worked with Haworth Tompkins Architects and Interrobang Architecture and Engineering. He has taught graduate design studios at the Kingston School of Art, The London School of Architecture, and the Oslo School of Architecture. In 2019 he was part of the chief curatorial team for the Oslo Architecture Triennale titled Enough: The Architecture of Degrowth.
