The BSc (Hons) in Spatial Planning and Environmental Management (TU835) is a combined programme delivered by TU Dublin Environment & Planning. The level 8 programme provides a practical and professionally-accredited pathway to a range of fulfilling careers.

This practical and applied programme should interest anyone with an interest in addressing climate change and improving the environment.

After a common first year programme, students can choose between two streams: either spatial planning, which focusses on planning the future of towns and cities; or environmental management, which is about managing a sustainable environment for the future.

Year 3 includes a work placement, with many recent graduates going on to find employment with their work placement partner.  Third year also includes a field trip to a European city or region, chosen to demonstrate best practice in sustainable development.  Year four allows full specialisation in a chosen field, including the completion of a research project.

The programme is highly practical and applied, with multiple field-trips and practical project assignments taking place in every year.  Students of the programme have gone on Erasmus and other exchanges to: Beijing (China), Dundee (Scotland), HCU Hafencity (Germany), TU Dortmund (Germany), Tampere (Finland), Lyon (France) and many others.
