Lunchtime talk by Alan Duffy, Principal Architectus

Join us on Wednesday 24th September at 1pm in the Gallery  for a lunchtime talk by Alan Duffy, Principal Architectus, Sydney and DIT alumni. Alan will present on his work including the award winning building HMRB project for Flinders University which secured the Australian State Medal,  and the Award for Sustainable Architecture. 

Alan  Duffy is a distinguished architect with over 25 years of experience leading innovative education and science projects across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, New Zealand, and Australia. His recent 2025 SA Architecture Medal for the Flinders University HMRB building exemplifies his award-winning design expertise. 

A former national gold medallist in Art, Alan employs a collaborative design process, using freehand sketching to spark dialogue and refine ideas. His focus on innovative educational spaces explores the connection between architecture, nature, and learning outcomes, with his internationally published work on biophilic design continuing to shape his projects.

His portfolio includes the University of Sydney Business School, Meadowbank Schools, Chatswood Education Precinct, Meriden DaCA building, and SINSW Midtown Macquarie Primary School. Alan’s contributions to architecture, art, and academia have earned global recognition.
