TU Dublin AT students sweep the boards in RIAI awards

TU Dublin Architectural Technology students have achieved outstanding success at this year’s RIAI Student Awards, sweeping the board with one winner and three commendations.

The RIAI Rising Star Award in Architectural Technology Award recognises an individual Third Year student of Architectural Technology who exemplifies academic excellence and dedication to the field of Architectural Technology in the national context of architectural technologists’ education.

This year, TU Dublin student Leah Maher was announced as the winner of the RIAI Henry J Lyons Rising Star in Architectural Technology Award. Her project, developed as part of her third-year studies, focused on the sustainable design of a sports hall, with calculated embodied carbon serving as a fundamental driver of the design process. This recognition highlights Leah’s commitment to sustainable and performance-led design, reflecting the values of TU Dublin’s Architectural Technology programme.

Leah’s achievement is a testament to her dedication and creativity, supported by the guidance of Dr Malachy Mathews, Year 3 Head, and the encouragement of her peers and the wider TU Dublin team.

In addition to Leah’s success, TU Dublin students Halina Egan and Aisling Holton were each highly commended, while Bobby McNamee received a commendation for his projects, further evidence of the exceptional standard of work being produced by TU Dublin Architectural Technology students. Well done to all four students - we are immensely proud of their achievements.
