TU Dublin Green Week Keynote Address: This is an Everything Emergency

To round off a fantastic week of Climate Action and Sustainability Events taking place for TU Dublin Green Week, the TU Dublin School of Architecture, Building and Environment are very excited to bring you Climate Journalist, John Gibbons, as our keynote Speaker.

John Gibbons has written regularly on climate issues for the Guardian, Irish Examiner and Irish Times newspapers and is a regular media contributor.  John is a phenomenal communicator who pulls no punches when it comes to all things climate change so come along and be inspired by his message: 'This is not a climate emergency, it's an everything emergency'. About the Key Note Speaker:

Based in Dublin, John Gibbons has been writing and campaigning on environmental and climate issues for the last decade and a half. This included a three year stint as weekly environmental columnist with the Irish Times.

He is founder of the website Climatechange.ie and he also maintains a long-running environmental blog at ThinkOrSwim.ie. He has appeared on national broadcast media outlets, including RTE (TV and radio), Virgin TV, BBC TV and CBC (Canada), TodayFM and NewsTalk. He has been a weekly environmental columnist with The Last Word on TodayFM for the last two years.

He is a regular contributor to a range of print and online media outlets, including, the Business Post, Irish Times, Guardian (UK), Irish Examiner, TheJournal.ie, and DeSmog UK, among others.

He is also an experienced public speaker on environment and climate issues, giving regular talks in schools and universities, as well as participating as a guest speaker in a wide range of public events. He is also co-author of the Routledge Handbook of Environmental Journalism (2020).

He maintains an online environmental presence via Twitter, with nearly 35,000 followers. He is also a member of the National Union of Journalists, the international Society of Environmental Journalists (SEJ) and the American Academy for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

A father of two, he is also co-founder of a medical and healthcare publishing and creative organisation.
