Master Systems Integration (MSI) - Intelligent Building Systems
On Wednesday the 26th of October, an attentive audience witnessed a very informative technical lecture in the Central Quad, Grangegorman. The onsite event was organised and hosted by the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Stephen Weir (IEng) who is Director of MSI, with the firm Hereworks. Stephen is also Vice Chairman of CIBSE Ireland and a former graduate of the Electrical Services Engineering programme, TU Dublin. The topic being delivered was in the area of Intelligent Building Systems and the role of the Master Systems Integrator (MSI), whom is now responsible for the standardisation and migration of all data outputs from a building to a “Data Lake”. This is a new methodology for capturing real-time building data and is being quickly adopted by many sectors such as, tech firms, blue chip and banking.
The event was opened by Mr. Michael McDonald (TU Dublin & CIBSE) and Mr Anthony Colohan (TU Dublin) both lecturers from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
