On Thursday, 24 April, during a special event held in Monaco, TU Dublin’s Dr Eamon Maher had the privilege of interviewing renowned French historian and expert in Irish Studies, Pierre Joannon. The conversation centred on two of Joannon’s most recent publications—one exploring the English novelist Graham Greene’s complex relationship with Ireland and the other chronicling a fifty-year correspondence with the esteemed writer Michel Déon, a member of the Académie Française and a devoted admirer of Ireland, where he spent the latter part of his life.
