TU Dublin Researcher to Speak at European Webinar on Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion in Tourism

Published: 6 May, 2025

Dr Fernanda Rabelo, a postdoctoral researcher in the School of Hospitality Management and Tourism at TU Dublin, will be a featured speaker at the upcoming European webinar, Breaking Barriers through Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Tourism Sector, on Thursday, 15 May 2025. The event is part of the PANTOUR project, an Erasmus+ initiative focused on building sustainable and inclusive skills in tourism and hospitality across Europe.

The webinar will run from 16:00 to 17:30 CET (15:00–16:30 Irish time) and will explore how equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) practices are essential for workforce resilience and long-term sustainability in the tourism and hospitality sectors. It will feature case studies and best practices from organisations across Europe, including Pão a Pão (Portugal), Trigon Hotel Group (Ireland), Rijksmuseum (Netherlands), and Albergo Etico Roma (Italy).

Dr Rabelo will share insights from her research on sustainable education and EDI-focused training in tourism, drawing on her work with the PANTOUR project and previous initiatives such as the Next Tourism Generation Skills Alliance and the Diversity and Intercultural Awareness and Inclusion in Hospitality project.

The event is free and open to all. Registration closes on 13 May 2025. After registering, participants will receive a Zoom link.
