20 years of our Level 6 Pharmacy Technician Studies Programme & launch of our new Level 7 BSc Pharmacy Technician Studies (Add-on)

What a wonderful evening we had on Tuesday, 6 October 2026, celebrating 20 years of our Level 6 Pharmacy Technician Studies Programme (DT425 and TU654) and marking the launch of our new Level 7 BSc Pharmacy Technician Studies (Add-on) TU769. It was fantastic to bring together our colleagues, students, graduates, industry partners and professional organisations to celebrate this important milestone and reflect on the evolving role and future of Pharmacy Technicians.
We were delighted to welcome an inspiring group of graduates and industry speakers:
🎤 Martin Mc Ardle – Senior Pharmacy Technician, St. Vincent's University Hospital
🎤 Christine Byrne – Pharmacy Technician, Pure Pharmacy
🎤 Karen Mealiff – Irish Association of Community Pharmacy Technicians (IACPT)
🎤Brian Battles – Director, Pharmacy Success
🎤Louise Hunt – President, NAHPT Ireland (National Association of Hospital Pharmacy Technicians)
🎤Dr Catriona Bradley – Founder and Managing Director, Fios & Praxis and former Executive Director, Irish Institute of Pharmacy
A huge thank you to all speakers for sharing their experience, expertise and vision for the future of the profession. Your contributions made the evening both inspiring and thought-provoking.
We are incredibly grateful to our industry partners, collaborators, alumni and professional colleagues for the support you have given our students and graduates over the past 20 years. Your continued engagement is an important part of the development of Pharmacy Technician education and the profession.
A special thank you to Théa Pharma Ireland for generously sponsoring the evening’s catering and supporting our celebration.
As we celebrate 20 years of achievement, collaboration and progress, we are also looking ahead to an exciting future. The launch of TU769 marks another important step in the development of Pharmacy Technician education, creating new opportunities for advanced practice, professional development and leadership.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. We look forward to continuing it together.
