Algae for Health in Food and Pharma – Innovation and Industry Summit.
Researchers from TU Dublin attended the Algae for Health in Food and Pharma – Innovation and Industry Summit. Held on the 4th – 5th March 2026 in TEAGASC Conference Centre, Ashtown, Dublin, Ireland.
This two-day summit brought together scientists, innovators and industry leaders to explore the latest developments in algae cultivation and processing, food innovation, small molecules in pharma, and regulatory aspects. The goal is to advance understanding of algae’s health potential and highlight how it can be applied across food and pharmaceutical sectors. It was an excellent opportunity for information exchange, topic discussions and meeting and fostering collaboration.
Rena Barry-Ryan gave a presentation on Seaweed to food, safety and sensory considerations. Rena also participated in the Panel discussion on key criteria for public and market acceptance of algal products.
