First-Year Pharmacy Technician Students Showcase Creativity in Vlog Competition
As part of the First Year Student Experience initiatives, and in celebration of World Pharmacy Technician Day 2025, the Professional Development ePortfolio Team of the Pharmacy Technician Studies Programme hosted a Vlog Competition for first-year Pharmacy Technician students (TU654/1) in October 2026. The competition, themed “First Encounters • New Journeys – My University Fresh Start”, invited students to reflect on their transition into university life. Participants were encouraged to capture their early impressions of studying at TU Dublin, from the excitement of beginning their academic journey to the challenges of balancing personal commitments while preparing for a future career in pharmacy.
Over the past number of weeks, the programme team was delighted to receive 23 engaging and insightful vlog submissions. Each entry offered a unique and personal lens on the first-year experience, highlighting academic enthusiasm, new friendships, skill development, and even the realities of long daily commutes, with some students travelling from as far as Limerick to Dublin.
Following several rounds of judging and voting, we are pleased to announce this year’s winners:
- 1st Place – Ethan Warnock
- 2nd Place (Individual) – Michelle Reddy
- 2nd Place (Group) – Bihone Shala, Wiktoria Bulak, Anabel Abudu Osazuwa & Jewel Anne Valencia
We extend our warmest congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding work, as well as to every first-year Pharmacy Technician student who took part in the competition. The creativity, commitment, and enthusiasm shown across all submissions reflect the dedication and passion that our students bring to their studies and future careers.
A special word of thanks is also extended to the Trinity College Dublin Chinese Alumni Association and the TU Dublin Admissions Office for generously supporting this initiative through the provision of prizes.
