Dr. Tao Zhang, Dr. Seana Hogan, and Mary-Therese McGrath, representing the Pharmacy Technician Studies Team (TU654/TU657), were honoured to participate in the NAHPT (National Association of Hospital Pharmacy Technicians of Ireland) Annual Conference 2024. The event took place on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Crown Plaza Hotel Santry, offering a valuable platform for engaging discussions and professional networking within the Hospital Pharmacy Technician community. We are proud to highlight the great achievement of our final year Pharmacy Technician Student, Alisa Moisa, who presented her insightful poster titled "Analysis of Group Communication within an Integrated Case-Study Activity for Pharmacy Technicians." Alisa's work showcased a remarkable depth of understanding and earned well-deserved congratulations from the attendees.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity to witness the evolving roles and responsibilities of pharmacy technicians in hospital settings. The audience was impressed by the innovative initiatives and practices undertaken by Hospital Pharmacy Technicians, reflecting their commitment to advancing patient safety and patient care. Conor Hurley, a graduate of our BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Healthcare programme (formerly DT422, now TU875) from the School, shared his expertise on "Poisons, Antidotes, and the NPIC" as the Specialist in Poison Information at the National Poisons Information Centre (NPIC).

The programme team had the pleasure of reconnecting with some of our pharmacy technician graduates, industry partners, and colleagues representing pharmacy technician program providers nationwide. This collaborative spirit underscores the strength and cohesion of our professional community.

The Pharmacy Technician Studies Team extends their heartfelt appreciation to Leonor O’Connor (the President of NAHPT) and her dedicated NAHPT team for orchestrating such a successful conference. We extend our best wishes for continued success to the new NAHPT committee, and we eagerly anticipate future opportunities for collaboration and professional growth within the pharmacy technician community.
