The School of Food Science and Environmental Health hosted their Annual Research and Innovation Showcase 2025 on 12 May 2025 in Central Quad, Grangegorman. Research talks and poster presentations across the three school disciplines including Industrial Biotechnology, Food Science and Environmental Health and Safety took place, allowing visibility of the excellent research ongoing within the school. There were four keynotes given from Dr. Steve Meaney “Generative artificial intelligence and ethics”, Dr. Bilal Javed “Advanced Lateral Flow Biosensors for Analyte Detection and Toxicological Evaluation of Nanomaterials in 3D Cancer Models”, Dr. Azza Silotry Naik “Bioprospecting Beverage Byproducts and Marine Biomass for Sustainable Food and Health Applications” and Dr. Abhrajyoti Tarafdar “Studies on Microbe-microplastic Interactions & Microplastics in Medical Procedures”.
