TU Dublin Pharmacy Technician Studies Programme Showcases Student and Graduate Excellence at National Conference
Members of TU Dublin’s Pharmacy Technician Studies Programme, based in the School of Food Science and Environmental Health, attended the National Association of Hospital Pharmacy Technicians (NAHPT) Ireland Annual Conference 2025, held on 29th March 2025, representing the university with pride and professionalism. The event offered an excellent platform to engage with current developments in pharmacy technician practice and to contribute to national and European conversations on education and professional advancement.
A highlight of the conference was Year 2 (Advanced Entry) student Tanja Muskovic’s engaging and well-received poster presentation on students’ awareness of antibiotic prescribing resources and their application in dosage confirmation. Tanja’s work demonstrated both scientific insight and relevance to practice. We congratulate Tanja on her excellent representation of the programme.
We were equally proud to see programme graduate, Simon Tee-Carter, present interim findings from the EU Erasmus+ “PharmTech Mobility” project. This important initiative, led by the Pharmacy Technician Studies Programme Team from TU Dublin (Ireland) in collaboration with the European Association of Pharmacy Technicians (Belgium) and Formación Profesional Colegio Tres Olivos (Spain)—aims to harmonise pharmacy technician education across Europe and support mobility and knowledge sharing among learners and educators.
Special thanks to academic colleagues Dr Tao Zhang, Dr Seána Hogan, Mary-Therese McGrath, and Dr Furong Tian, along with students Jacklyn Herrera and Galina Salpuc and graduate Simon Tee-Carter, whose participation contributed greatly to the day’s success.
This engagement at a national level highlights the School’s continued commitment to student-centred learning, excellence in teaching, and active contribution to professional communities in Ireland and across Europe.
Congratulations to NAHPT Ireland on delivering another impactful and well-organised annual conference.
