Dublin Physics Undergrad Students attend the 8th International Science and Technology Week in Zaragoza ISTWZ

Eden Connolly (TU754/3), Aisling Ní Bhriain (879/4), Conor O’Reilly (878/1), Aoife Dardis (879/1) and Oonagh Power (879/1) were among a group of 20 visiting students that participated The International Science and Technology Week of the University of Zaragoza (ISTWZ) from 29th June to 3rd July 2026.  The program of activities aim at  science and technology students and exchange coordinators and was an opportunity to become acquainted with the Faculty of Science and the School of Engineering and Architecture, as well as the university and the city of Zaragoza.

ISTWZ was held at the University of Zaragoza and included technical presentations, visits to labs and research institutes, meetings with researchers, other science and technology related activities, cultural activities, tours of the city and an excursion to the Pyrenees.

The attached photo is from outside the Laboratorio Subterráneo de Canfranc in the Pyrenees, the second biggest underground lab in Europe researching dark matter.
