Eyeball 2025 – What a Night!

Published: Fri May 2 2025 - 10:13

On Saturday, April 12th, the Optometry and Ophthalmic Dispensing students of TU Dublin gathered for
their much-anticipated annual Eyeball at the Radisson Blu, Golden Lane—and what a night it was!
As the third-year committee Hannah Whitten, Grace Campion, Zainab Tairu, Abbie Condon, Ruby Bennett,
Liam Schokman, Eva O’Mahoney, Padraig Clinton, Favour Oviahon, and Ella Hanbidge, we put a lot of time
and energy into organising this event, and it was amazing to see everything come together. Our goal was
simple: to give all students, lecturers, supervisors, and National Optometry Centre staff a well-earned
chance to celebrate after a long academic year.

The night would not have been possible without the generosity of the sponsorship and raffle prizes from
multiple companies.

One of our favourite moments of the night was the Kahoot quiz, where we all had to guess which baby
photo belonged to which lecturer. It had us laughing non-stop and definitely brought out everyone’s
competitive side.
And then came the moment everyone was waiting for: the raffle prizes. We had some seriously amazing
prizes this year, including a Keeler retinoscope and ophthalmoscope set, a Volk lens, scrubs and vouchers
just to name a few. Safe to say, the winners were delighted!

Of course, no Eyeball would be complete without music and dancing, and our DJ absolutely nailed it! From
throwback hits to chart-topping hits, the dance floor was buzzing all night long. We saw some serious
moves from both students and lecturers.

We’re so grateful to all who contributed to make the night special. Eyeball 2025 was one for the books—
bring on next year!
Many thanks, Grace and Hannah :)
